Steve is joined by Rod and Nicole (both of whom head up the GOLiverse goodreads group at www.geekoutonline.com/reads) to discuss the latest entry into the GOLiverse book club, C.S. Lewis’ Out of the Silent Planet. The trio doesn’t necessarily agree on how good or not good the book is, but they take calls from the GOLiverse to discuss the book which is more about religious philosophy than sci fi action. Throughout the show the crew have some good-natured fun with a listener who championed the book. Thanks to Dylan Newhouse for being such a great sport and having fun along with us.
Dave has welcomed a new little one into his family and still finds the time to watch and podcast about professional wrestling. To that end, Dave and Steve review this year’s Summerslam and the preceding NXT event Takeover Brooklyn. The guys get in depth, Dave gets hot, and the guys welcome Dan and Mark…wait…that’s not right.
Teresa and Steve watch Oliver and Company – the penultimate movie from Disney studios before what is known as Disney’s renaissance. The two talk about the songs, the characters, the humor, and the similarities to older Disney movies featuring fuzzy people. It’s a good time thanks to the street smart duo as they take a look at the last Disney animated feature before things exploded under the sea.
Kristin and Steve dive into the album that launched Bruce Springsteen into super-stardom. Born To Run celebrates 40 years since it’s release in 1975 and Rock Out Loud celebrates by listening to and reviewing the album track for track. It’s a great time listening to a great album. If you haven’t purchased said album yet, what are you waiting for? Below you will find links to buy various formats of the album on Amazon and support the shows.
